ISKCON stands for international society for Krishna consciousness .In short I would like to answer, ISKCON is an international organisation founded by A.C bhaktivedant swami srila Prabhupada in 13 July 1966 in new York , USA . In other word it's called hare Krishna movement . Main purpose of this origination is to spread Krishna consciousness all over the world and to teach vedic knowledge based on Hindu sacred texts such as srimad Bhagvat Gita , srimad bhagavatm, rama charita manas. Lord krishna and radha worshipped mainly.

Main purpose of this hare Krishna movement is to teach people life philosophies such as purpose of human life , cause of soreness , death , birth, incarnation , journey of soul , salvation . In a nutshell .ISKCON monks often teach devoting to lord Krishna should be one's purpose of life . Chanting hare Krishna maha Mantra , taking Prasad , dancing in front of the deties , preaching Bhagvat Gita knowledge are the main practices of ISKCON community . More than 800 temples are there around the globe headquartered in Mayapur India . Personally I have visited many temples in India .it's a very peaceful place to visit and to get association of ISKCON monks .most of them are highly educated ( from IIT, NIT ).
